If you are not sure of the package you need or what the differences are between them. Then I would recommend starting with our base jPower package.  The jPower Package is an excellent starting point for a company that wants to have control of their own website. Applied CMS believes that every customer should be able to change their own sites content when ever they want and that is just one of the many reasons you should choose a content management system over the standard HTML/flash sites that most web design companies build. The ability to change the look and layout of your site, while always retaining the content is a HUGE BONUS, which translates into savings down the road. You just can't do that without a content management system.

What's the catch? 

There is none, once you pick a package, we then install it, then we get you up to speed on using it. Frankly, you may not need our services again. Our hope if that you have a good experience with us, you will tell your friends (not your competition, of course) and if you want a more complex component added to your system down the road or need some new graphics work done that you wouldn't hesitate to call on us.

What else do you need?

• You need a domain name, if you don't already have one. (1 year free with hosting plan, then $10 per year after)
• a server or server space with a hosting company (not more then $6.95 per month)

Applied CMS personally uses and recommends using Bluehost for your web hosting needs the cost is $6.95 per month if you pay for a year in advance. We don't recommend the SUPER BIG hosting companies such as Godaddy or Yahoo!. Because their tech support is non-existent and they prevent users from being able to use the server fully. (I avoided the technical jargon on purpose) If you don't already have a hosting provider and would like a Joomla site, call us and we can recommend some other companies.

What are the hidden costs?

We don't hide any costs, again we hope you recommend us to a friend or come back to us for an install of a component you would like to add to you site in the future.

We really do get individuals and companies managing their own websites in a matter of days, our method is to teach people in lay-man's terms. We have taught even the most technophobic people how to update their site. It truly is easy. If you are not in our local area then we set up a time for our learning sessions and conduct the lessons over the phone in 1/2 hr increments. We log into your site together and we walk you through the various features.

I'm confused, Isn't Joomla! free?

Absolutely, Joomla! and many of the components are "open source" which means they are free to use and redistribute. Applied CMS is a service company that will shave months off the learning curve. That is part of what you are paying for. Technically you can download Joomla! and install it and figure it out for yourself if you have the time, Joomla.org has a great forum with 1000's of users willing to help newbies. What we provide is our extensive knowledge of Joomla! installations, setting up a logical section - category structure, some security tricks, custom template modifications, and teaching you what you need to know to get up and running quickly.
